Today started out quite hectic as a group of local 9th graders arrived and I had to take pictures of them on their various routes with Ben to the top of the North Ridge where they learned about the continental drift experiment and NASA’s “Radio Jove” which monitored Jupiter, with Mike into the observation plate archive and the radio telescope component fabrication room and finally with Christy through the library, the Smiley telescope and other instrumentation controls.

After lunch I worked with Mike to run ethernet cables under the command center floor boards so that I can finally have internet in my office! This process was much more tedious than we expected as it resulted in an entire re-arranging of the room.

At the end of the day I had a chance to meet with Dave (the director of PARI) to talk about my schedule and it looks like I will be moving back to Charlotte somewhere around July 31st giving me plenty of time before my final semester of classes start on August 25th to score an internship. Should have my concrete objectives set by tomorrow afternoon.

My goal is to take 3 HDR photos of the site a week so that I can get practice with HDR methods. Here is the 2nd one for this week,
