I just completed reading Masters of Deception. Anyone, and I do mean ANYONE who thinks that the Amway/Quixtar business model is worthy of praise and emulation is deluded.

Having been an (IBO) for about one year around 1980 and having bought the endless stream of tapes and books designed to keep one motivated (but really, to enrich the upline Diamonds and Crowns), and having attended the rallies and seminars at my expense, I can truthfully say that the organization is a cult.

It will be my pleasure to see the dishonest and nasty people in power from those organizations indicted for fraud and incarcerated.

Do your own research. Talk to those who have left. Beware the zombies still involved. I was fortunate to become a “loser” and to leave when I did.

Consider supporting those who are valiantly doing battle against this egregious evil organization – they are heroic in their efforts in the face of unspeakable character assassination and assaults.

If you look closely at the Amway/Quixtar website, you will note that in calculating the average income, Amway has already disregarded their inactive IBO’s. If not, the average income would be something like $70 a month. And keep in minf that a big diamond making millions pulls the average up Most IBOs make less than $10 a month. The business owner menatility thing is BS. A real business owner would scrutinize his expenses and try to increase his income flow. IBO’s are taught to ignore these facts.

You might not be as impressed with Hot, Flat, and Crowded. I just got done with it, and although there are some redeeming qualities, it is just to wordy for me. Some of his proposals seem to be hatched at the time he was writing, with the full consequences not fairly treated. You can see my full review over at my blog.

This is an unimaginably important topic, and thanks to the Friedman name more people may be exposed to how this issue can in fact be used to propel us into the 21st century. But I wish the writers, such as Hawken, who have been bleeding this topic their whole careers were the ones who could deliver this message to the masses instead.

You might also want to check out Blessed Unrest, which is Hawken’s latest offering. He tells about all of the people he has run into trying to make this world a better place. It’s very uplifting, especially amongst all of the bad news we seem to get every day.
